St. Paul’s Cathedral and Millenium Bridge; London, originally uploaded by Arpad Lukacs.

Juxtaposition of old and new, as you see St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Millenium Bridge in London in this shot.

According to Wikipedia, this is considered to be London’s fifth St Paul’s Cathedral, all having been built on the same site since 604 AD. It was the tallest building in London from 1710 to 1962.

The London Millenium Footbridge was opened in 2000 – then shut down for two years while modifications were made – and reopened in 2002. (It was featured in the movie Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, even though that film is set in the mid-1990s and the bridge had not yet been built.)
