1.19 glasgow the internet will close, originally uploaded by jacicita.

As the sign says, the internet will close! Well, SeenonFlickr will, at least, for at least a week. Your hostess will be away and will have no access for (at the very least) a week. I hope to be back as soon as possible, but since it’s medical leave, no one really knows when I’ll be back online.

I encourage you to check out some of my blogroll for other entertaining and interesting blogs, and of course to go see for yourselves what you can see on Flickr.

Take care and hope to see you soon.

carrboro farmer’s market, originally uploaded by minervacat.

Eggs, in a variety of beautiful neutral colours. This is kind of like looking at paint swatches, but infinitely more cool.

Obama and Lincoln cupcake art installation by Zilly Rosen at Smithsonian American Art Museum, originally uploaded by Rachel from Cupcakes Take the Cake.

Did you see the Barack Obama and Abraham Lincoln cupcake art installation by Zilly Rosen at Smithsonian American Art Museum when it happened? It was COOL.

Zilly Rosen also made an election day cupcake art installation of Obama.

P.S. My new favourite thing on Flickr is the Official White House Photostream, where you can see such gems as this and this, and also this. (And THIS.)

Roman Masterpiece, originally uploaded by Imapix.

This is the Pont du Gard, a Roman aqueduct and road, in the south of France. According to Wikipedia (I know, I know!) it had long been thought that it was built around the year 19 BC, but newer excavations suggest the construction may have taken place in the middle of the first century A.D.

The bridge is 49 meters high and the longest level is 275 meters long.
